Police seek information after person struck on Highway 6 near Slocan Park

RCMP are asking for public assistance after a person was struck on Highway 6 near Slocan Park Sunday (February 18th).

In a media release Monday, RCMP said police responded to an incomplete 9-1-1 call at 1:19 a.m. and found a 47-year-old deceased man from Winlaw.

“The subsequent investigation has determined the man was struck by the vehicle in which he had been a passenger on Highway 6 near Slocan Park,” the RCMP media release said.

“RCMP investigators with West Kootenay Traffic Services in conjunction with the BC Coroner’s Service will be working together to determine the cause of the collision.”

Police are seeking witnesses and are asking anyone with information to contact the West Kootenay Traffic Services at 250-354-5180.
