Police release description of suspected gunman in Slocan

Police have now used Twitter to send out a description of the armed suspect sought near Slocan City: 45-year-old Paul DeGroot is a Caucasian male, 6-foot-1-inch (185 cm), 170 lbs (77 kg), short brown hair, appears to be balding, blue eyes, glasses.
Otherwise, as of 4 p.m. Friday, the alarming status quo remains, with the city under lockdown and police asking residents to remain indoors while the search continues for a man alleged to have fired shots at police Thursday.
