Membership has its privileges with the BGC Advantage Program at the Balfour Golf Club.

And those privileges are more than just playing on one of the most picturesque Les Furber designed courses in the province packed with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains or Kootenay Lake.

“The BGC Advantage Program is a brand new concept to Balfour this year.  It is our amped up version of a loyalty program and thus far is being received very well” said Balfour’s Head Professional Craig Wilkinson.

“By getting involved in the program you will have quickly unlocked the best way to increasingly save money on your green fees all season long,” Wilkinson adds.

Wilkinson said theprogram contains three key facets.

The first is a ‘loyalty’ points collection component where golfers earn one point for every dollar spent in the golf shop. These points are ultimately redeemable for free green fees, power carts or range tokens.

Secondly, members are given access to a graduated green fee structure where discounts increase as you attain certain levels of point accumulation.

Lastly, BGC Advantage Members will be given exclusive access to a variety of monthly specials on offer throughout the golf season.

Located a short distance north of Nelson, Balfour offers a magnificent 18-hole championship golf course designed by none other than Les Furber, who has designed numerous courses around the world.

Balfour Golf course features private lakefront meadows and views of the majestic Selkirk Mountains that surround Kootenay Lake.

Playing on stellar fairways and luscious greens, a trip around the 18-hole circuit will awe even the most travelled golfer.

That is not all that Balfour offers, however.

Tuesday night is Men’s Night for players looking for a social evening.

Seniors tee it up Wednesday mornings while Ladies Day is reserved for Thursdays.

Each of these league play options are open to members and public alike.

Once your round is complete, Annie Bailey and staff at Osprey Grill can whip up a meal fit for royalty.

Balfour Golf Course has combined with Osprey Grill to offer two fantastic Golf and Dinner options — offered all-week long.  Their Matinee Golf & Dinner starts at 2 p.m. and includes 18 holes of golf with dinner for $49 per person.  They also have a Nine & Dine option, beginning at 4 p.m. and includes 9 holes of golf with dinner for $37 per person.

Any way you look at it, making a trip up the lake to Balfour is an experience that golfers will cherish and talk about for a lifetime.
