A pilot is lucky to be alive after surviving a plane crash Wednesday afternoon in Fort Nelson, BC.

The pilot was the only person on board the plane said the Transportation Safety Board officials.

The plane, said to be seen on fire just after 4 p.m., crashed Wednesday in the middle of an intersection in an industrial area of Fort Nelson.

RCMP said the pilot was pulled out of the wreckage and was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital and released Wednesday evening.

No one on the ground was hurt.

The plane was a Seawind 2000 plane. Engine trouble is the early cause of the crash.
