Penticton RCMP report local man assaulted

Penticton RCMP have one in custody after a man was badly beaten and left on the side of the road Thursday (May 21) morning.

Police received at report at 8:39 a.m. Thursday that a 37-year-old Penticton man had been badly assaulted and left on the side of the road at the three kilometer mark on Shingle Creek Rd, which is off of Green Mountain Road.
 
The man was taken to local hospital and treated for what appeared to be serious, but non- life threatening injuries.
 
Penticton General Duty officers are currently being assisted in their investigation by local General Investigative Service (GIS) officers, the Forensic Identification unit, and Police Service Dog unit.
 
Police have a 32-year-old man in custody and are currently searching for other suspects.
 
Police believe the individuals involved in this incident are known to each other and the public is currently not at risk.
