The Nelson Leafs kick off 2017 of their Kootenay International Junior Hockey League season with plenty question marks hovering over the Buds.
The Heritage City franchise, expecting to make a return to the upper echelon of the Junior B Hockey League after a disastrous past season, have struggled for find the right chemistry and currently sit fourth in the Murdoch Division, a mile behind front-running and current KIJHL leading, Beaver Valley Nitehawks.
However, Nelson only trails second place Grand Forks Border Bruins by four points in the standings.
