After coasting through the Murdoch Division, winning eight straight, and the first game of the Kootenay Conference series, the Beaver Valley Nitehawks now face some adversity against the Kimberley Dynamiters.

The Nitros scored a much-needed road victory, edging the Hawks 3-2 in Kootenay International Junior Hockey League Conference Playoff action Saturday in Fruitvale.

The win evens the best-of-seven Kootenay Conference Final at 1-1 with Games three and four, Tuesday and Wednesday, in the Bavarian City.

Second period goals by Nolan Kurylo and Nic Herringer proved to be the difference as Kimberley erased a 1-0 Beaver Valley first-period lead.

Franco Colapaolo scored an insurance marker into the empty net in the third period to secure the road win for Kimberley.

Mitch Foyle, with time running out in the third, and Bradley Ross, scored for the Hawks.

Cody Campbell registered the win in goal for the Dynamiters as Beaver Valley out shot the visitors 28-21.

Beaver Valley’s Tallon Kramer lost in goal for the first time in the 2017 playoffs.

If necessary, Game five is scheduled for Friday in Beaver Valley.

In the Okanagan/Shuswap Conference, Osoyoos Coyotes hold a 1-0 series advantage with Game two Sunday in the South Okanagan City.
