He’s played the Grey Cup.

He’s played JUNO Awards Celebrations.

And now he’s coming to Nelson to rock the Royal Hotel on Baker Street Saturday (January 24).

McCuaig, who hails from Nelson but has his band based in Regina, is back on tour after taking time off.

The band is in Kelowna Friday.

The Johnny McCuaig Band is a Blues mixed with a 70’s groove band, has a chugging rock guitar interlaced with Scottish Bagpipes.

A Country train with a melodic voice that pulls you in without choice.
McCuaig brings bagpipes to a whole new level by playing them as a lead instrument; much like a guitar including all the effects, all while wearing a kilt!

McCuaig, who also runs Mad Piper Entertainment, is getting ready to release a new CD with the help of Juno Award-winner Jason Plumb will be handling production of the project.

Plumb also fronted Canadian band The Waltons.

Others contributing to the project include singer Casey Stone and Shaun Verreault of Wide Mouth Mason, who will be playing guitar on a track.

Tickets are available at the door.

Opening act is local guitar player James Picton.
