The Nelson Peewee Rep Leafs continue to strike Gold.

The Heritage City squad blasted Windermere 9-3 to capture the Gold medal at the Invemere Minor Hockey Tournament Sunday in the East Kootenay City.

Eliot Rude powered the Leafs to the victory, scoring a hat-trick in the finale. Sebastian Conne Correnti scored twice while Cohen Wolbaum, Jack Boyes, Kale Gerhmann and Miller Tedesco added singles.

Dax Dewar, Sawan Bhabra and Larson Proctor each contributed to the offence with assists. Nelson goalie Grady Groenhuysen was outstanding throughout the tournament to backstop the Leafs.

Nelson advanced to the final by stopping Golden 7-1, Calgary Knights 8-2 and Bow Valley 7-3 during round robin action. The other team in the tournament was Canmore.

This is the second gold of the Minor Hockey season for the Leafs, after Nelson defeated Golden in the final of the Revelstoke tournament earlier this month.
