Nelson Garden Festival a hit once again with gardeners
The 14th Annual Nelson Garden Festival was a hit Saturday on Baker and Kootenay Streets.
The event, sponsored by the West Kootenay EcoSociety, saw a sellout crowd of people arrive looking for items for the garden from the 50 vendors and community groups.
Even Mother Nature attended, bringing spectacular spring-like weather.
Some of the items up for sale included perennials, annuals, vegetable starts, trees, furniture, flowers and chicken manure.
The Garden Festival is a precursor the upcoming Cottonwood Market, beginning Saturday near Cottonwood Falls, the Nelson Downtown Local Market and the Friday-night Market Fest events.
The Cottonwood Market runs Saturdays from May 16 through to October 31.
All the events are run and sponsored by the West Kootenay EcoSociety.
