BC Southern Interior MP, Alex Atamanenko played host to a film shot in Nelson Tuesday (June 3) in Ottawa  —The Change Agents.

The evening was co-sponsored by the Citizens Climate Lobby, Ontario Chapter and saw more than 70 people in attendance, including 10 Members of Parliament.

“It was an honour for me to host this important event,” Atamanenko said in a email press release.

“I would like to thank Cathy Orlando of the Citizens Climate Lobby for her help in making our gala event a huge success. It especially was a pleasure to host the stars of the show actors Lucy Carver Brennan and Mike Coons, as well as Director, Robyn Sheppard and Producer Sarah Hayward. I thank them all for taking the time to come to Ottawa.”

The Change Agents was filmed in Nelson with support from students and staff at LVR Rogers Secondary as well as the community of Nelson.

It shows how a young dedicated high school student was able to mobilize those around her to make a strong statement for the environment.

“I would certainly recommend this film to all those concerned about the effects of climate change, especially young people,” Atamanenko said, “Bravo Nelson.“
