Nelson blasts Kelowna to capture Midget House Tournament

Nelson outscored the opposition by a 29-7 margin en route to capturing the Midget House Minor Hockey Tournament Sunday at the NDCC Arena.
Nelson blasted Kelowna 8-1 in the final to capture the gold medal.
The winners opened the tournament by doubling up on Nelson Minor Hockey rival, Nelson 1 6-3 before dominating Creston and Spokane by 9-1 and 8-1 scores, respectively.
Nelson advanced to the final Saturday by stopping Kelowna 6-2.
The team includes coaches Martin Grill and Dave Zarikoff and players Ava Young, T.J. Winters, Bryce Winters, Alex Laing, Ethan Grill, Ben Price, Josh Schacher, Max Speilman, Mike Zarikoff, Blair Sookro, Kyle Patton and Noah Whiffen.
