Kootenay Columbia MP, Rob Morrison would like the public to consider nominating citizens in the riding for Platinum Jubilee Award pins.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the accession to the Throne of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Canada’s longest reigning Sovereign.

Morrison acknowledges past few years have been incredibly difficult, but there have been those in our community who have risen to meet the unique challenges we’ve faced.

“I believe these actions should be recognized,” Morrison said in a media release.

Morrison said the pins will be given to those who have demonstrated the qualities extolled by Her Majesty the Queen: public service, dedication and sacrifice.

“If you know someone who has gone above and beyond what has been asked of them and you believe is deserving of this award, I invite you to nominate them,” Morrison said.

Nominations are now open and can be submitted by clicking this link.

The nomination deadline is June 24, 2022.

All nominations will be reviewed by an independent panel of judges who will determine the recipients.
