Mount Sentinel finishes sixth overall at A Boy's Volleyball Championships

The Mount Sentinel Wildcats dropped a straight set match to the Fernie Falcons to finish sixth overall at the BC High School A Boy’s Volleyball Championships Saturday in Abbotsford.

The Cats, ranked third overall heading into the tournament, lost a pair of close games 27-25, 26-24.

Mount Sentinel advanced to the consolation round contest by sweeping Ucluelet 25-22, 25-13.

The Wildcats opened the tournament with three consecutive wins over Chemainus (2-0), Fernie (2-0) and Kelowna Christian (2-0) before losing to Bulkley Valley of Smithers (2-0) and Credo Christian of Langley (2-1).

Vernon defeated Credo Christian for the bronze medal while Abbotsford Christian and Centennial Christian squared off in the gold medal final.

Starting Thursday in Kelowna, the Mount Sentinel Wildcats begin play in the BC High School A Girl’s Volleyball tournament.

Mount Sentinel enters the tournament ranked third overall.
