Nelson Maple Leaf Team No 2 out scored the opposition 38-13 en route to capturing the Nelson Midget House Minor Hockey Tournament Sunday at the NDCC Arena.
Maple Leaf Team No 2, along with six other teams from the Kootenays, Okanagan and USA, were in the Heritage City to compete in the eight-team event.
Midget Leafs defeated Castlegar 5-2, South Okanagan 7-2, Idaho 9-0, before edging Penticton 8-7 overtime in a heart-stopping contest.
Midget Leafs then pounded Castlegar 9-2 in the final.
Driven by desire, determination and guidance from an attentive coaching staff, the Midget Leafs provided friends and family with an unforgettable weekend. Congratulations Nelson No 2.
