Mallard's Team of the Week — Trafalgar Thunder Volleyball

The Trafalgar Thunder roared back from slow round robin start to capture the South Okanagan Grade 8 Girls Volleyball Tournament this past weekend in Oliver.

Teams from Penticton, Osoyoos, Keremeos and host Oliver were entered in the tourney.

Trafalgar finished fourth in round robin play, before rallying knocking off first-place Keremeos in semi-final action.

The Thunder continued the impressive play in the final, edging Penticton 2-0 (25- 16, 25-14).

Most Valuable Player for the Thunder was captain Abby Ens.

Mallard’s Source for sports would like to salute the Thunder with Team of the Week.

The team includes, Sarah Robertson, Daisy McBeath, Hannah McClure, Abby Ens, Noa Bokser Wishlow, Ella Taylor, Atlyn Proctor, Shelbi Van Hellemond, Ally Nicholson, Ava Anast, Jocelyn Mushumanski and coach Coach Staci Proctor.

Next up for the Thunder is action Wednesday in Rossland where the Grade 7 boys team will join the four girls teams (Grades 6-8) before Trafalgar travels to Nakusp Tuesday and Stanley Humphries. The West Kootenay playoffs are November 24 at Mount Sentinel.
