The L.V. Rogers drama class is taking over the Capitol Theatre this weekend with its adaptation of “Almost Maine.”

The show, set for Thursday to Saturday beginning at 7:30 p.m., has about 40 students involved — most are behind the scenes as tech crew, stage crew, stage manager and crew chief.

Nineteen senior actors from LVR perform nine separate scenes under the direction of English Drama teacher Robyn Sheppard.

“Weclome to “Almost Maine”, a town that so far north its almost not in the United States — it’s almost in Canada. And it almost doesn’t exist. Because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it’s just . . . Almost,” said a review of the play.

The LVR class has been performing scene nights throughout the year, but this is the first large play performance.

In past years the drama program has performed the musical My Fair Lady and most recently, The Change Agents.

Tickets are $12 for Students/Seniors and $15 for adults and can be purchased at the Capitol Theatre Box Office.
