LVR Bombers open baseball season on fire

The L.V. Rogers Bombers are off to a great start in the High School Spring Baseball League, winning four of the team’s opening four games.

The Bombers posted wins over Northwest Christian and Timberlake Idaho during spring break.

Here’s a capsule look at the season:

Game 1 LVR 19 Northwest Christian 2

Braden Zarikoff threw a five innings of two hit, nine strikeouts ball to register the win on the mound.

Dylan Jacobs lead the team with three hits while Braeden Zarikoff, and Eric Hurley each had two hits leading the 11 hit attack.
 
Game 2 – L. V. Rogers 19 Nothwest Christian 11 

John Barabonoff, Casey Harrison and Keaton Roch combined on the mount to lead the Bombers to their second win.

Eight players in the lineup had two hits each with Sawyer Hunt and Keaton Roch getting the timely RBI’s
 
Game 3 Bonners Ferry 6 – L. V. Rogers 4 

Austin Tambellini started the game and gave way to Braeden Zarikoff in the fifth inning, Zarikoff finished the game taking the loss.

Tambellini had two doubles and a single while John Barabonoff and Keaton Roch chipped in with two singles each.

Game 4  Bonners Ferry 8 – L. V. Rogers 5 

John Barabonoff started the game and took the loss, Reece Tambellini and Keaton Roch pitched well in relief.

Austin Tambellini lead the hitting again with two singles and a double, Ben LeMarquand chipped in with two singles.
 
Game 5 LVR 12 Timberlake (Idaho) 2

Braeden Zarikoff pitched a complete game for the win, giving up only three hits striking out six and not walking a batter.

awyer Hunt, Reece Tambellini and Ben LeMarquand all collected two singles each.
 
Game 6 LVR 9 Timberlake 1

Austin Tambellini pitched a complete game giving up three hits, no walks and getting 10 strikeouts.

Braeden Zarikoff lead the team with a double and two singles, while Hanno Southam, Austin Tambellini, Sawyer Hunt, and Keaton Roch all had two hits each.
 
The next action for the Bombers is Wednesday, April 2 when the club travels to Northport, Washington for a double header starting at 2 p.m.
