High speed data connectivity is now available for business customers throughout most core commercial areas of Nelson.

Local telecommunications and IT service provider DHC Communications Inc is
leveraging the City of Nelson’s new fiber optic network to deliver carrier grade services including lightning fast high speed internet, shared IT/server access and local off‐site automated data back‐up.

“This is a major advancement for business in the City of Nelson,” says Simeon Pilipishen, manager of information technology for DHC Communications.

“Using DHC’s innovative ‘local cloud’ technology, combined with fiber optics, our customers now have access to extremely high speed, robust data connectivity that has not been seen in Nelson to date.”

DHC’s ‘local cloud’ also provides fiber connected clients access to cloud based IT servers and services, similar to what would traditionally be installed on‐premises at each business.

However, in this case the servers are located in secure data centers and are fully managed locally by DHC.

This allows greatly improved reliability, operational speed, security and reduced customer cost as on‐site equipment purchase and maintenance is no longer required.

Service is available for installation immediately. For more information or to schedule a complimentary site survey and network evaluation visit www.dhc.bc.ca/nelsonfiber or call 250‐352‐0861.

DHC Communications has been operating in Nelson since 1999, currently employing 17 staff.

DHC offers IT services, network cabling installation, fiber optics, telephone systems, wireless networking, electronic security and audio‐visual throughout the Kootenays.
