Letter: Trust in politicians slipping

To the Editor:

My trust in politicians is slipping with every election.

There are many reasons for this. One topical reason is the description of the so called ‘Trudeau carbon tax’ by critics or opponents in recent election campaigns and currently in our federal election campaign.

The descriptions given by politicians like Sheer, Ford and Kenney have repeatedly and intentionally been incomplete and misleading.

For example, they continuously leave out the fact that the money collected through the carbon tax would be returned directly to the people in the province or territory where the money was collected.

All but the very rich would end up with more money in their pockets… not less.
