Davin Burton scored the winning goal 57 seconds into the third period sparking the Columbia Valley Rockies to a 5-3 Kootenay International Junior Hockey League victory over the Nelson Leafs Friday night in Invermere.

The loss was the fourth straight for the Green and White, and the fifth time in the last six games Nelson has dropped points.

Nelson jumped to a 2-0 lead late in the first period on goals by Alex Meeker and Logan Wullum, the latter a shorthanded marker.

But Mike Dyck, his first of two in the game, cut the lead in half with a goal before the buzzer.
