The Nelson edition of the Kootenay Storytelling Festival may not have blown the doors off like organizers had hoped for, but its definitely a start of something big for the Heritage City.

After a few year hiatus, the Kootenay Storytelling Festival may its way back to the community with stops in Proctor (Saturday) and Nelson (Sunday).

The Kootenay Storytelling Festival featured storytellers from Toronto (Mariella Bertelli), Cranbrool(Joshua Klassen) as well as locals Barry Gray (Harrop) and Olivia Van Jarrett (Nelson).

Prior to delving into his tale, organizer Barry Gray offered his opinion to the audience on the potential of the Kootenay Storytelling Festival which has moved permanently after 10 years in its birthplace — Proctor — to the Heritage City before beginning his tale.
