Trafalgar Music Program received a much-needed injection of funds thanks to the August 6 International Blues Day Fundraiser at the Royal Hotel.

The well-attended event, hosted by the recently formed Kootenay Blues Society, saw several musicians and bands, including Frank Brooks, Charlie Jacobson, Rick Lingard, Keith Todd, Tim Bullen, Anna Katarina, the Baker Street Blues, the Lazy Poker Band with Simone Waisboim and Aryn Sheriff, played for hours with a suggested donation fee of $5-$10.

All of the money raised goes towards the Band and Music Program at Trafalgar Middle School in Nelson.

Tim Bullen, the Music Educator at both Trafalgar and LVR high schools, will be using it for badly needed instrument repair costs.

Much thanks to Lisa Backus, Stelio Calagias, Tim Bullen and Phil Wilson- Birks for organizing this event and to the musicians and the community for coming out and supporting the Band and Music Program at Trafalgar Middle School!
