Jiggers cruise to City Soccer Over-30 Women's crown

Finley's defenders kept the DD strikes under control.

Leila Precious-Arcuri scored twice to spark Finley’s Jiggers to a 4-1 upset victory over regular-season champion Dirty Dozen in the final of the Nelson City Soccer Women’s Over-30 League Sunday afternoon at the Lakeside Pitch.

The win allowed third-place Finley’s to complete the run to the title. Dara Davidson and Tanya Finley added singles for the Jiggers.

Sheila Street was the only Dirty Dozen player to get the ball past Finley’s keeper Diana Atkinson, who was amazing between the pipes.

Finley’s finished the regular season in third spot with a 1-3 record.

The league champs began the quest for the title by stopping 4-Play 7-1.
