The L.V. Rogers Bombers dropped a barn burner to the visiting J. Lloyd Crowe Hawks Tuesday night at the Hangar in Nelson.

LVR rallied late, but lost in overtime to the Hawks from Trail 79-76 in West Kootenay High School Boys’ Basketball action.

Josh Jolicoeur tied the game for LVR in the final seconds of the fourth period, dropping a contested layup to even the score.

However, the visiting Hawks outscored the Bombers in the extra frame to steal the victory.

Jairo Mangapot paced the Bombers with 26 points while Mike Zarikoff had 18 and Jolicoeur 12.

The loss was the second in as many games for the Bombers, which failed to secure a win last week against Mount Sentinel.

LVR lost 61-58 to the Wildcats.

LVR returns to action this weekend when the team travels to Osoyoos to play in the Rattlers Invitational Basketball Tournament.
