Gulf Islands send Bombers home in tenth spot
The up-again, down-again L.V. Rogers Bombers unfortunately finished the B.C. High School AA Boy’s Soccer Championships down again, dropping a 3-1 decision to Gulf Islands in consolation play Wednesday in Burnaby.
The loss dropped the Bombers into 10th spot in the 16-team field.
Okanagan Mission, a team that edged LVR 3-0 in the opener Monday, won the provincial crown by stopping Archbishop Carney 2-1 in shootout.
Cormac Southam won the Commissioner’s Award for LVR as the teams’ best player.
LVR finished the tourney with a 1-3-1 record.
