Gold, Silver & Bronze for Nelson Youth Soccer at Provincial B Cup

Not a bad weekend for Nelson Youth Soccer.

After qualifying an incredible nine teams for BC Soccer Provincial B Cup action, the Heritage City teams returned with three medals, including a Provincial title won by the Nelson U16 Selects.

The Selects knocked off rival Vernon United to capture the U16 Girl’s Title Sunday in Penticton.

Earlier in the day, Nelson came close to capturing its second provincial title after the U18 Girls lost a heartbreaker in shootout to host Penticton Pinnacles making it a silver medal for the Selects.

Penticton won 3-2 in shootout.

In U14 Girl’s Bronze Medal action, Nelson edged Prince George 3-2 to claim a spot on the podium.

The U13 Girls played in the Consolation Final against Prince George, defeating the northern squad 2-1 to finish seventh.

Meanwhile, in West Vancouver, Nelson came close in bronze medal action, losing three times.

The U18 squad lost 6-1 to a highly-charged squad from Chilliwack Attack.

Meanwhile the U16 Boy’s dropped a tough 2-1 decision to Kelowna United while the U15s lost 3-1 to a Killarney in Vancouver.

Nelson U14s defeated Williams Lake 3-0 in the seventh/eighth contest while the U13 Boys dropped a tough 3-0 decision to North Van in the fifth/sixth contest.
