Eight players from the Kootenay Wildcats have tickets booked to play in the 2010-11 Female Midget AAA All Star Game Friday at the Coquitlam Sports Centre.

The contest is the second annual in the brief history of the B.C. Hockey Female Midget AAA League.

Headlining the Wildcats selections are two members of the B.C. U18 Provincial Team members Aimee DiBella of Nelson and Cranbrook’s Daley Oddy.

DiBella was named on defence while Oddy is a forward.

Also selected are rearguards Randi Brown of Castlegar and Holly Nikirk of Invermere and forwards Hailey McLean of Trail, Shannon Hall of Midway, Kiana Strand of Invermere, and Shea Weighhill of Midway.

Brown, Oddy, McLean and Hall will play for Team White while DiBella, Nikirk, Strand and Shea Weighhill will be on the roster of Team Blue.

Forty players (12 defensemen, 24 forwards and four goaltenders) have been selected, representing each of the five Female Midget AAA teams.

Players were selected based on their on-ice and off-ice performance by the All Star Game selection committee.

During the first and second intermission of the game a skills competition will be held for all the participating All Star players. The skill competition will include: fastest skater and a breakaway challenge.
