The building located at 1537 Bay Avenue* (near the corner of Helena Street and Bay Avenue) is scheduled for demolition by Impact Equipment Ltd. starting July 27.

The demolition process will take approximately two weeks and will occur during the hours of 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. During this time, large machinery will be in operation and loud noises will occur. Security fencing will be installed around the perimeter of the site and traffic control will be in place. The City asks that anyone in the area during this time take extra caution and to obey all signage.

A dust suppressant plan is in place for the demolition and the City will work with Impact to ensure the Trail Markets on the Esplanade scheduled for the first two weeks of August can continue as planned without any disruption. All materials from the demolition will be separated (brick, concrete, wood, etc.) and will be removed for recycling or disposal.

We apologize for any inconvenience and we thank you your patience. Please direct any questions or concerns to the City’s Engineering Department at 250-364-0807.

Thank you,

City of Trail

*The site will be used as part of the Trail Riverfront Centre (integrated Library and Museum) construction, estimated to start at the end of September, 2016.
