It’s down to six teams as the Nelson City Soccer League determines its champion in the three leagues — Men’s Open, Women’s Over 30 and Men’s Over 35 — Sunday at the Lakeside Pitch.

The Nelson Innkeepers meets rival Kootenay Co-op in the Men’s Open Final. The Innkeepers outlasted U18 Reps 9-8 in a wild one at Lakeside.

Meanwhile, Co-op took care of a short-staffed Vikings squad 6-2 to book its ticket to the final.

In the Men’s Over 30 semi finals, Bia Boro built a 3-0 lead at halftime, and then held off a feisty Jackson’s Hole squad for a 5-3 victory.

On the next pitch, Ted Allen’s needed extra time to knock off Red Dog 4-3. Red Dog scored in the final seconds of regulation time to force the extra period.
Ted Allen’s got the winner early in the first overtime period when a Red Dog defender drilled the ball off a teammate and into its own net.

In the Women’s Over 30 League, Dirty Dozen shutout Red Dog 3-0 while Finley Jiggers blasted 4-Play 7-1.

Championship Sunday has Dirty Dozen facing Finley Jiggers in the Women’s Over 30 final while Ted Allen’s looks to repeat in the Men’s Over 35 against Bia Boro. Both games kick off at 1:45 p.m.

In the Men’s Open League, Kootenay Co-op tangles with Nelson Innkeepers at 3:45 p.m. All games are played at the Lakeside Pitch.
