Curling Club hosts 'Learn to Curl' event
The Nelson Curling Club is rolling out the red carpet to anyone wanting to learn the sport when organizers host a Learn to Curl event Saturday, January 18 at the facility next to the NDCC Arena.
For a small fee of $10, participants will have the opportunity to learn skills taught by Nelson Curling Club officials.
The event, from 4-7 p.m., offers on-ice instruction, curling as well as some hospitality following some curling.
Participants should dress in warm, layered, loose fitting clothing and bring clean indoor shoes.
Curling has a long history here in Nelson,” said Kristina Little, Competitive Curler and Instructor. “I was fortunate to grow up in an era where curling was an incredibly popular sport. I want to see it regain the traction that it once had in our community. “
“It truly is an activity that can be enjoyed by all ages and all skill levels.” Little adds.
