Organizers are amazed at the success of the annual Community Connect Day held Saturday at the Central School Gym in Uphill.

More than 400 people attended the event that continues to grow says organizers.

Nelson Committee on Homelessness organizers were also thankful to the host of professionals and community volunteers that made the day go smoothly.

Organizers said Community Connect Day is a chance for families and individuals to get such a service and also learn of other services at the same time that are available to them in the community, like those offered by Kootenay Kids, Circle of Indigenous Nations (COINS), the Advocacy Centre, Kootenay Career Development Services and others.

Services like dental and eye check-ups and referrals, haircuts, physio and chiropractic care and other body work are all services were available during the day.

And everyone from volunteer to professional to attendee took something positive away from this day.
