City prepares to flush large increase to water/sewer rates in favour of smaller one

Nelson taxpayers will be pouring more into water and sewer utilities this year, but not as much as what was once predicted.
City council has a two per cent increase in water rates and a 1.5 per cent increase in sewer rates in the works — pending adoption at the next council meeting — meaning homeowners in Nelson will be paying $18 more per year for those utilities.
