City asked to consider municipal composting program

Proponents of composting in Nelson have asked the city to create a new position to deal with the growing amount of food waste entering into the municipal waste system.
Bruce Edson has asked the city to consider implementing a new staff position to contend with picking up household food waste and composting it, instead of having the material end up rotting in the regional district landfill.
