Charges laid against one of three suspects in Sicamous violent home invasion

Police have made an arrest in horrific home invasion of a terminally ill cancer paitent in Sicamous.

In a media release, RCMP said police in Nanaimo arrested a 37 year-old man Tuesday (October 30) in relation to a series of charges originating from the BC Interior City.

The arrest was made following the violent home invasion involving two males and a female suspect, which occurred on Wednesday ,October 24th, 2018. It is alleged that the male suspects were armed with handguns and forced their way into the residence on Kappel Street in Sicamous, where a 59-year-old female victim who is terminally ill with cancer was held at gun point and kicked in the face during the alleged home invasion.

Crown Counsel has approved six (6) charges against 37-year-old Robert Christopher Bomba in relation to the incident including: Forcible Confinement, Disguising the face while committing an offence, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Break and Enter, Failing to comply with Probation, and Possession of Stolen Property over $5000.

Bomba was also arrested by Nanaimo RCMP on two outstanding arrest warrants from the Sicamous RCMP. The warrants were for charges of Failing to Comply with Probation and Driving while Prohibited.

Police said Bomba is currently held in custody in Nanaimo and made a court appearance Tuesday.
