It’s any home renovator’s nightmare — you cut a hole in a wall and find a major problem lurking behind it.

That’s what happened with the Regional District of the Central Kootenay’s renovation of the Nelson Aquatic Centre last year- and it has cost taxpayers more than a quarter-million dollars to fix.
