As of today employers are invited to submit their applications for funding through Canada Summer Jobs 2011.

Employers can apply online, at www.servicecanada.gc.ca/csj2011, or print an application form from the website. They can also get an application form by visiting any Service Canada Centre.

Applications must be submitted between Feb. 1 and Feb. 28.

To help employers complete their application, the Canada Summer Jobs Applicant Guide is available online, by calling 1-800-935-5555, or by visiting any Service Canada Centre.

Funding will be available to not-for-profit organizations, public sector employers and small businesses to create high-quality summer job opportunities for young people aged 15 to 30 who are full-time students and intend to return to their studies in the next school year.

Canada Summer Jobs is an important part of the Government’s long-term Youth Employment Strategy, which helps young people get the tools, skills and work experience they need to make a successful transition to the workplace.

In 2010, the Government of Canada concluded agreements with approximately 22,000 organizations to fund about 37,000 summer jobs for students.
