Bombers sweep past competition at Immaculata Tournament

The L.V. Rogers Bombers didn’t look like a team basking in the glory of capturing the BC High School AA Girl’s Soccer Championship last season.
The 2016 defending champs hit the ground running, winning all games at the Immaculata High School Girl’s Soccer Tournament Saturday in Kelowna.
LVR blasted North Kam 5-1, Pemberton 8-0 before edging host Immaculata 2-1.
Maya Ida, McKenna Bennett, Rylee Zondervan, Taylor Zimmer and Laurel Halleran each scored twice in the tournament, while Emily Taylor, Emma Wheeldon and Jesemyn Vandonselasr added singles.
Next up for the Bombers is a trip to the prestigious University of Victoria High School Girls Tournament, April 22-24 in the Provincial Capital.
The season concludes when the Bombers host the 16-team BC High School AA Girl’s Championships June 1-3 in Nelson.
