Bombers sweep Crowe Hawks in High School Hoop action at the Hangar

Bombers teams from LVR made is a clean sweep during a pair of high school basketball games Thursday at the Hangar.

The LVR Junior Bombers got the party started off on the right foot, scoring the final eight points of the game to escape with a 32-27 victory over the J. Lloyd Crowe Hawks in Junior Boy’s action.

The Senior Bombers made it a clean sweep, outlasting the Hawks 65-46.

In the Junior contest, the Bombers trailed 27-24 late in the fourth quarter before going on an 8-0 run to secure the win.

LVR led 16-9 at the half before the Hawks took advantage of some sloppy play to even the game at 20-20 going into the final period.

Hawks led 25-22 and 27-24 before LVR stole the game away.

Top scorer for the Bombers was Dyllen Dixon with 12 points.

Curtis Young and Quinn Hall each had six points while Jack Roberts added four.

In the senior contest, Josh Matosevic had 28 points to lead the Bombers.

Vinnie Watson added 12 while Jake Anderson had added 11 points.

LVR bounced back from a 1-3 showing on the weekend in Golden.

The Bombers beat Mount Baker Wild of Cranbrook 60-30 with Darian Johnson scoring 21 points and Josh Matosevic adding 11 to lead the Bombers.

LVR then lost to a depleted Sa-Hali of Kamloops 56-51.

Costly mistakes on the defensive rebounding end hurt LVR. Matosevic scored 18 points for LVR.

Saturday morning the Bombers played the AAAA Salmon Arm Golds for the third time this season.

LVR stayed close but lost down the stretch 69-59 — the narrowest loss of the three to Salmon Arm this season.

Vinnie Watson scored 13 points while Matosevic had 11 and Robby Dixon 10.

In the final game, LVR played the fiftf-ranked AA Golden Eagles on home court and lost 80-40 on senior night.

Matosevic was the lone Bomber in double figures with 13 points. Jake Anderson and Dixon each added nine points.
