Bombers Soccer squad edges Dawson Creek 1-0 at BC AA Championships
After a tournament of heartbreak, the L.V. Rogers Bombers concluded the BC High School AA Boy’s Soccer Championships on a positive note, edging Dawson Creek 2-1 to finish 15th overall Wednesday in Burnaby.
The Bombers finished 1-2 in pool play, finishing in a three-way tie for second. However, LVR was dropped to fourth on goal differential.
LVR lost the opener to Langley Fundamental 1-0, the overall winner of the tournament, before Carhi of Campbell River edged the Bombers 2-0. The final game, LVR lost 1-0 to Valleyview of Kamloops.
In Consolation Round, Windsor of North Vancouver defeated LVR 2-1.
Aidan Mushumanski paced the Bomber offence with a pair of goals while Jaden Dyck was selected the Bombers Commissioner’s 16 Top Player winner.
The Bombers advanced to the provincial tournament by capturing the Kootenay Championships.
