Bombers roll past Stanley Humphries

The L.V. Rogers Bombers Senior Field Hockey team rolled past Stanley Humphries of Castlegar 5 – 0 in the final West Kootenay League game of the season Thursday at Pass Creek Field.
The Bombers controlled much of the play throughout the game and were rewarded with a goal by Rylie Jordhal from a nice pass by Zoe Baxter. The Bombers then struck for second during a short corner on a nice shot from Gioia Valk on a return pass from Elle Schlegel.
In the second half the Bombers continued their control of the game with some great mid field work by Ella Peloso and Jessica McLeod. Central Defender Skyla Short was tremendous in keeping the back line intact often linking up with Peloso and McLeod to work the ball out of the back.
Erica Potkins, Elle Schlegel and Rylie Jordhal scored in the second half to secure the victory.
Next up for the Bombers is playoff action against Castlegar Tuesday at the Pass Creek field. Game time is 3 p.m. The winner advances to the West Kootenay Final Thursday against J. Lloyd Crowe Hawks of Trail.
