The L.V. Rogers Bombers are off to the provincials.

The Bombers won the Kootenay High School Boy’s AA Soccer Championships by doubling Grand Forks Wolves 6-3 in the final Saturday at the Marysville pitch outside Kimberley.

The Bombers now advance to the BC High School Boy’s AA Soccer Tournament November 19-21 in Burnaby.

“ It will be a real challenge for this small-town rural team facing the giants of the lower mainland but team moral and camaraderie is high,” said Bomber coach Caleb Morton.

Moss Caney, Keegan Carmichael and Max Spielman each scored twice to pace the Bomber attack.

LVR advanced to the final by blasting host Selkirk Storm 9-0. Caney and Liam Shandro paced the offence, each scoring twice. Singles went to Spielman, Milo Klein, Fynn Keywood, Edan Sollid and Carmichael.

LVR has had considerable success leading up to the Kootenay Zone Championships, capturing the Mount Baker Tournament, finishing strong during a recent playday in Nelson as well as another set of games in Vernon.

The Bombers will be looking to improve on a 15th place finish in 2017.
