Interior Health has issued a Boil Water Advisory for all users of Smallwood Creek, including the Taghum Improvement District Water System.

The advisroy is due to the high level of bacteria — positive for total coliform bacteria.

Interior Health suggests residents use these precautionary measures:

  • Precautionary measures can be made by not consuming water.
  • Please boil all drinking water.
  • Do not brush teeth with tap water, cook or wash food and make ice.
  • After washing hands, apply a sanitizer cleaner.

Interior Health will continue to test the water of Smallwood Creek. Following two samples that come back cleared as negative, the Boil Water Advisory will be lifted.
