BC Coroners Service confirms identity of body found near Nakusp

The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who was found deceased near Nakusp on October 6 as Kyung IL Chun, aged 71, a resident of Burnaby.

Chun was found by search-and-rescue and RCMP personnel in a wooded area known as Fostill, northwest of Nakusp.

He had travelled from his home in Burnaby to the Nakusp area to pick mushrooms on Sept. 13, 2013 and had not returned as planned the next day. His vehicle was found about three kilometres away.

The BC Coroners Service has concluded that Chun died of natural causes.

The family of Chun has been notified of his death.
