Air Ambulance Helicopter attends motorcycle crash in Crescent Valley

The operator of a motorcycle was medevacked to hospital Monday afternoon following highway accident on Highway 6 in Crescent Valley.

The accident happened shortly after noon when the operator collided with a truck on Highway 6 near the Crescent Valley Fire Department.

Crescent Valley and Tarry’s Fire Departments responded to the accident which slowed traffic to single lane while first responders dealt with the victims’ injuries.

Injuries to the male operator proved to be severe forcing for BC Ambulance attendants to call in BCEHS medevac from Kamloops. No one in the truck was injured.

The Air Ambulance Helicopter landed near the field next to the Crescent Valley Fire Department to retrieve the injured man, who was believed to be conscious, before transportation to hospital.

RCMP attended the scene to determine the cause of the accident. Crescent Valley is located approximately 24 kilometers west of Nelson.

This is the second time this year Air Ambulance Helicopter has been called to attend an accident scene. Earlier this year BCEHS medevac was called to an accident between Kelly Road and Voykin Subdivision on Highway 3A.
