School’s out. Selkirk students get ready to party with 3 awesome bands set to rock the house in celebration of the end of school. This night will feature My Pet Lion, Hello Dynamo and Sound Splash.
Magic Bus Chill the Funk Out Edition
Tuesday, April 19 – Showtime 10 pm
A very special edition of the Magic Bus series featuring a night of amazing music all on the chiller side of things … reggae, dub, hip hop, soul, jazz, funk, downtempo, old school, new school, you school, me school, and all around nice grooves to dance or listen to. Your Dj’s for the night will be Breakfluid, Braden Early and Joel West. No cover.
Electric Wednesday with Estevan and Tracy Lynn

Unknown Culprits
Thursday, April 21 – $5 – Showtime 9 pm
The dirty, blues-infused rock ‘n’ roll of the Unknown Culprits comes to the Royal. They brilliantly blending the song structure and musical skill of classic rock legends with the energy of 90’s grunge and punk, and finish it off with flavours of blues, jazz, funk and ska.

Sunshine Drive
Friday, April 22 – Showtime 9:30 pm
Sunshine Drive delivers a hard-driving menu of Rock Classics, Blues, R&B, Funk, Reggae and Ska, along with their own originals and they are laying these down at the Royal.
Frontman Grant Sutherland has entertained Kootenay audiences for years with his high energy vocal and guitar stylings. Bassman Phil Wilson-Birks, a veteran of numerous bands in western Canada, lays down a solid foundation that will get you moving on the dance floor.
Steve Garth, veteran of performances in Canada, the U.S., Europe and Australia, adds tasty guitar and slide to the mix. Daryl Doyle fills out the band’s sound with soulful Hammond riffs and keyboard textures.
Bonnie Johnson sizzles with a knockout drumbeat to rock the house. Sunshine Drive delivers an experience of music and fun that’s guaranteed to please.

Aaron Nazrul and the Boom Booms
Saturday, April 23 – $12 – Showtime 9:30 pm
Aaron Nazrul and the Boom Booms spend a tremendous amount of time on the road performing live … this is their art and they’re bringing it to the Royal.
It’s a reggae, rock, afro, latin, soul, funk, folk thing you’ll want to experience. The Boom Booms are a brother and sisterhood as much as they are a band, and are proud to share the stage and sonic space with many local west coast musicians and people, who make their job the best job on the planet.
Great live performers, great music … it’s gonna be a great night.

Brave New Waves

This Easter weekend join us for a Vancouver Island-style party featuring Brave New Waves.
These guys are touring is support of their new album Island Style and they’re bringing their reggae/ska/dub grooves to the Royal.
If you want a sound that takes you away to an island with beautiful sandy beaches, lush green rainforests, and beautiful breaking waves then Brave New Waves is the band for you.
