16th Annual Nelson Garden Festival packs in the crowds

Green thumb enthusiasts flocked to the west part of Baker Street for the 16th annual West Kootenay EcoSociety’s Nelson Garden Festival.

Local vendors and community groups from the surrounding communities gave the crowds more than enough perennials, annuals, vegetable starts, trees, furniture, flowers - just about everything a gardener needs to get started or add to an already great endeavor.

There was even chicken manure on hand to help plants get a good start.

The Garden Festival kicks off the festival season for the West Kootenay EcoSociety, which also hosts Cottonwood Community Market, Nelson Downtown Local Market and the Friday-night Market Fest events.
