UPDATED: BC Coroners Service confirms identity of woman found near Kamloops

The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of the body of a woman found by the lake near Kamloops as Tracey Dawn Dallyn.

Dallyn had been reported missing to the Kamloops RCMP on April 13, 2015.

On April 18, hikers spotted her floating against the shoreline on the north shore of Kamloops Lake below Battleship Bluff. She was deceased at the scene. 

The BC Coroners Service continues to investigate this death. Foul play has the now been ruled out. 

Dallyn’s family has been notified of her death.

No foul play in death of woman found by hikers near Kamloops

RCMP have ruled there was no foul play after the body of a woman was found Saturday afternoon (April 18) by hikers walking along the North Shore of Kamloops Lake near Cooney Bay and the CN rail tunnel.

The body was discovered along the water edge.
 
Due to the undetermined nature of this woman’s death the RCMP South East District Major Crime (MCU) from Kelowna was contacted to take over the investigation.
 
An autopsy performed Tuesday (April 21) in at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops determined that no foul play was involved in this woman’s death.
 
The deceased is a 50-year-resident of Kamloops and the RCMP MCU will be turning over this investigation to the BC Coroners Service for any additional investigation and possible release of identity.
