Two grizzly cubs rescued near Invermere Friday (October 10) have found a home at a wildlife society in Smithers.

Friday, a conversation officers in Invermere discovered the mother had died after being hit by a car.

The CO felt the two cubs, a male and female, were too young to survive in the wild so it was determined to relocate them at the Northern Lights Wildlife Society.

The CO met owners of the NLWS in Golden, where the two cubs were exchanged.

However, when the NLWS owners arrived near Revelstoke the truck they were using broke down.

After getting the cold shoulder from the tow truck operator at first, the company quickly changed its tune when social media pressure was put on them.

A mechanic also chipped in help, leaving his Thanksgiving dinner to fix the vehicle.
