Rupert RCMP need help locating missing boater

Prince Rupert RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in locating 69-year-old Victoria resident, Paul Clark.

Clark’s intentions were to row from Prince Rupert to Victoria in his home made 16 foot ‘Paul Gartside’ design open water row boat.

On (Saturday) July 19 at 6:34 p.m., the Prince Rupert RCMP received a report from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre of a missing boater last seen at Borrowman Bay on Aristazabal Island, 180 kms south of Prince Rupert.

Clark was last seen departing Borrowman Bay on Aristazabel Island at 2:30 a.m. on (Friday), July 11.

He has not been seen or heard from since. His intentions were to get to Port Hardy within 24 hours and row on the west side of Vancouver Island to Victoria.

Paul is 5’11”, 154 lbs, brownish white hair and hazel eyes.

Paul’s boat is a 16 foot ‘Paul Gartside’ design open water row boat with bright yellow sails. The hull and deck are white in colour with a blue gunwale.
